What a pleasant surprise to see George Herbert here! Meanwhile, I should definitely make peace with that I am a slow writer and just get to work, instead of complaining to myself on how long it will take me to finish a book.

George Herbert is wonderful! Haha, as a fellow slow writer, I definitely feel you! Unfortunate that complaining is easier than just getting to work 😂

Such a lovely read.

I was just looking at Warhol's Gold Book last week - drawings of figures and flowers. I liked them much more than the pop art he's celebrated for. I read he traced and was surprised by that.

I love the fantasy of a closet of our dreamiest dresses. Sign me up. Whatever I can do to actualize the life that's in my head.

I wrote a personal entry, really just for myself, sharing it with no one I know, but someone I mentioned in the piece read it. I guess she had been lurking. Her response was way harsh and she ended her message with "it wasn't personal." I really hate that. It wasn't personal to you because you don't care, but it was personal to me! Instead of responding I just had to let it go. Some relationships, especially those from childhood, run their course and it's okay to say goodbye. Especially to people who don't understand you, make excuses, are rude, selfish, and are not a positive presence in your life.

Thank you so much, Miranda!

I should definitely check out Warhol's Gold Book—I was also surprised by his drawings.

Oh no, I hate when people say "it's not personal," it's like they're just trying to abdicate responsibility for the fact that what they said might actually be hurtful to the other person. I'm sorry that happened to you—I definitely agree that sometimes the best thing to do is to just let go in order to prioritize your own peace of mind.
